Memories

Dad passed away in January 2022 after about a 14 yr. battle with cancer. He was known as a quiet, strong, stable man. Many times I find myself thinking back to my childhood, remembering how dad dealt with different situations and using that as a beacon to guide my own decisions. Memory is a great gift, a very useful tool in giving us direction for our present life. It’s also a comfort. It has a healing quality that cannot be duplicated. Grief has a fear, a fear that our loved one will be forgotten. That there will be a time in the future somewhere when we will no longer miss that one we loved. So here’s a little opportunity. Send a memory. Something that you don’t want to be forgotten. Something that we can learn from. Leave it in the comments below or send it to me. I’ll post it…

  1. In recent years when your folks would be here visiting Grampas we would end up over there and would usually do some singing. I always really enjoyed your Dad’s quiet yet apparent enthusiasm for singing, proven by his smooth and strong bass..
